Hp 2300 card pci-e x1 (non sas raid) (hdd supported only)ġ)pci-e x1 card max transfer rate through the card is 190mb/sec (or if accessing both sata ports 90mb/sec each.ģ. Sil 3132 (o4r 4 port version pci-ex4 card) Jmb 363 card pci-ex1 (5 optical burners or hdd or any combination) Using the port multiplyer, i can hook it up to: Max tranfer rate through pm is 300mb/sec or lowest transfer rate of raid card type. Port multi are not that expensive (ie turn 1 port into 5) The 4 port highpoint 2300 card (pci-e) support port multiplyer I want the most cost effective solution to be able to put 12 storage drives in my system with the 1 system drive I was trying to avoid the other 2 onboard slots as they are only SATA, but then I realised my Sil card is only SATA anyway. but i don't know if i can use that at the same time as my AGP video card (yes it has full agp as well as pcie x16) the board is an ASRock 939Dual-SATAII and does have a PCIe x16 (or maybe x8) slot. I only have a 2 PCI's and 1 PCIe x1 slot to play with. with plans to add another 4 early next year (and maybe another card). i've got 4 1tb's on that at the mo and will be adding another 4 1tb's once I get another card. the OS is on a 750gb SATA using the onboard (i've only got 2 other onboard connections sadly). but i'm not sure how WHS would play with it and it seems like a major waste of cash (was like $666 last time i looked on static) when i'm going to have to run the disks individually and not in raid. originally i was thinking of something like a highpoint 2340 (16 port). Click to expand.yeah i do believe a pci-e card would be faster.
